JCM Related Energy Support for Mitigation in Indonesia

The following I will explain about the JCM PROJECT to the topic JCM Related Energy Support for Mitigation in Indonesia

a. Mitigation (Contribution) to what ?

The ultimate objective of this Convention and any related legal instruments that the COP may adopt is to achieve, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Convention, stabilization of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system

b. GHG Emissions Projection :

c. GHG emissions reduction target (2020) :

d. How does JCM Project contribute ?

e. Up-front information relevant to all types of contributions ?

Base year, target year/period, sector coverage, GHG coverage, GWP, inventory methodology, use of market units, land use approach, conditions attached to target (upper bound of target corridor), indicators related to fairness and ambition.

f. Joint Crediting Mechanism between Indonesia - Japan :

JCM is an economic cooperation between Indonesia – Japan where clean technology investment and transfer from Japan to Indonesia is compensated by the resulted emission reduction. The mitigation result could be used by Japan to support its mitigation target UNFCCC.

g. Institutional Arrangement on Climate Change :

So an explanation of JCM related energy support for mitigation in Indonesia and hopefully useful.
